Refuge 2023

written by Meredith Grafton, West Memphis UMC

Refuge was a successful event connecting junior high students to their foundations in Christ and other youth in the state.

Refuge was so much fun with rotations such as speed friending, group games, and a scavenger hunt. These activities fostered a connection between the students and allowed friendships to occur or even strengthen.

Refuge also strengthened relationships in Christ through prayer stations, worship with an amazing band and speaker, and cabin devos. This balance of fun and focus was perfect for junior high kids.

As Refuge Chair, I believe that this event was very successful. Refuge had minimal hiccups, and I saw many lives impacted by the weekend spent at SOTO.

As a task force, our mission was to reach at least one child and help them grow and strengthen their relationship with God, and I believe we were more than successful in that.
