The idea for Veritas was formed in 1988 in the old North Arkansas Conference by some youth pastors. Their goal was simple. They wanted to facilitate the Christian experience for young people in a new way. Less than a year later, the first Veritas was held in Ft. Smith.

Rather than reach out to the individual, Veritas (latin for truth), as it was named, became a collection of youth groups dedicated to worshiping in this different way, reminding young people they are not alone in their walk with Christ, and most importantly changing their lives forever. It grew over the next ten years to almost 700 participates each year until the merger of the two conferences into one in 2003.

With churches all over the state now attending, the event grew into the event that all youth wanted to attend as we started to book nationally known worship leaders and speakers . We now see over 1500 youth and their leaders, becoming one of the largest United Methodist Youth events in the country.

Keynote Speaker - Jeniffer Dake

What do pole vaulting, waitressing, youth pastoring, and dissecting sharks have in common? Well, nothing really…except that Jeniffer Dake has done them all! Her diverse background and life experiences provide natural connections with students, no matter where they have come from or where they are, and allow her to encourage them to live passionately for Christ in a way that impacts the world around them for eternity. As a tour pastor for Stacie Orrico, speaker on the Girls of Grace tour and in numerous high schools and church youth events as well as partnering with Michael W. Smith in teen ministry, Jeniffer has proven her ability to engage students with her honest and real approach to the daily challenges of life that we can turn into opportunities to share the powerful message of Christ. Her focus on lifestyle evangelism and the benefits of sexual purity are messages that the college students of today desperately need to hear.

Worship Band- The Museum

It might not sound like it, but the Georgia based pop band The Museum is actually named after a revolution. During a 2008 musical mission trip to Romania, drummer Josh Kirk found himself at a ceremony commemorating the end of Communism in that country twenty years earlier. “There was a small, humble museum near the square that told the story,” he recalls. “Turns out it was a group of Christians that actually brought about that political and social revolution.” Twenty years later the political changes were celebrated but the spiritual center of the revolution had been mostly forgotten. Kirk saw little evidence of Christian influence in the culture. “That little museum remained though,” he adds, “offering a glimpse into the kind of faith that can turn a nation upside down.”

Special Guest- 321 Improv

321 Improv Comedy will bring tears to your eyes, a pain to your side and they’ll make your face ache with laughter! An evening with 321 Improv is unlike any you’ve been a part of before. It is a unique interactive comedy experience. Each show, the three guys in 321 Improv instantly turn audience suggestions into hilarious scenes. No two shows are the same! 321 Improv Comedy is: Carl Crispin of Grand Rapids, MI; Matt Cramer, also of Grand Rapids; and Mike Domeny, who lives in Birmingham, AL. Carl (Co-founder and member of CPR Improv Comedy from 1992-2004) started 321 Improv in 2004 and has been traveling and performing improv full time since 1997. Matt and Mike both bring years of comedy and improv experience to the team as well as a level of energy that makes the show completely unpredictable.

Was trying to pay my daughter’s registration fee online but couldn’t find out how. I would rather pay it online than send with her. Her name is Abbey Yarbrough and she is with Vilonia United Methodist Church. I registered her before the “early bird” deadline. I just need to pay her fee. HELP!!!!!

Please call me at (870) 718-4862. When I recieved my email confirmation and discovered that one of my youth had registered on her own. I think she made a mistake and may have ordered 10 pizzas. Who should I call to take 10 pizzas off of her order? I hope it is not to late to take them off. Thank you! Christy Rogers
